Some of the controls capabilities available on an HMS All-Servo transfer System include:
- PC based or PLC based controls architecture
- Fieldbus technologies including (but not limited to) Interbus, Industrial Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, SERCOS and Ethernet Powerlink
- Multiple operator pendant mounting configurations
- Remote pendant functionality to assist with new tooling start-ups
- True “Follow-the-Press” operation for maximum safety. Motion control capacitor back-up system ensures the transfer always follows the press, even if plant power is lost during production
- Redundant feedback for the press master encoder as well as each axis of servo motion
- Remote diagnostics functionality reduces unnecessary, costly service calls to customer site
- Fully programmable motion profiles (electronic cams) deliver optimal throughput for an unlimited number of parts
- Top Stop & Restart: When the press ram stops at the top of its cycle, the transfer system will follow the cam of the virtual master to a safe “down and out of the way” position.
- Multiple password levels allow the manufacturing management team to maintain control of certain transfer system parameters. This helps to reduce operator induced downtime
- Detailed production history, error logging, and fault recovery diagnostics information are all easily accessed from the intuitive custom operator interface
- Viewing of the transfer’s operations manual and electrical drawings are also possible via the operator interface on transfers with PC based controls
